What is the Pleasanton Girls Softball League (PGSL)

Founded in 1977, the Pleasanton Girls Softball League (PGSL) is a non-profit, tax-exempt corporation that is run by community volunteers.

Our Purpose is to provide recreational and competitive girl's fast-pitch softball programs for the communities of Pleasanton, Dublin and Sunol.

Our Mission is to provide a quality recreation and developmental softball program for girls of ages 5 to 18 regardless of race, creed, color, religion, national origin and/or ability.

PGSL offers a fun and competitive softball experience for its girls and coaches.  We strive to teach the girls life lessons and strong values through sports.  PGSL supports the concepts of the Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) that encourages coaches to be a "Double-Goal Coach®".  Teaching these important lessons about sportsmanship, sense of purpose and the value of teamwork in a positive environment helps the girls gain valuable skills and helps prepare them to become confident, successful young women.

Our Objectives include:

  • Develop the physical and mental fitness of the girls in our community
  • Provide an environment to develop an attitude of wholesome sportsmanship and respect for fellow teammates
  • Teach the basic skills and fundamentals of softball through qualified leadership and coaches
  • Develop positive coaching skills, knowledge and attitudes through clinics and training programs
  • Build confidence, raise self-esteem and encourage responsibility
  • Develop a softball program that will provide fun and enjoyment to all participants
